Free Abrego-Garcia

To: Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott, Rep. Mast

From: A verified voter in Hobe Sound, FL

April 1

Kilmar Abrego-Garcia is an innocent man deported to CECOT in El Salvador. He came here at age 16 to escape gang violence and kidnapping. He has no criminal record in the US. In 2019 he was granted protection from removal by a judge due to credible fear of persecution by gangs. He has an American wife and son, age 5. His son has multiple disabilities and is non verbal. Mr. Abrego-Garcia works full time as a Union sheet metal apprentice. He has completed all of his ICE check-ins. The government has not produced any evidence to support the claim that he is a gang member. He was accused of being in a gang in NY, where he has never lived. (Karoline Leavitt says she saw the evidence, so, hey, good enough for me/sarcasm) I demand that you join with other legislators to obtain the return of Abrego-Garcia to the US, along with any other wrongfully detained deported persons. When did we stop having due process in this country? Fascism was at the gate, now it’s in the house.
