Slashing hundreds of millions from programs like the CDC's HIV prevention budget and PEPFAR's global AIDS initiative would reverse years of progress, leading to tens of thousands of new infections annually in the U.S. alone according to medical experts. These severe cuts put politics over public health and endanger vulnerable populations. Robust funding for proven HIV/AIDS programs must be maintained to continue making progress against this epidemic.
