Push back on the Trump regime's social media disclosure policy proposal.

To: Sen. Smith, Sen. Klobuchar, Rep. Morrison

From: A constituent in Minneapolis, MN

March 30

The administration's proposal to require green card applicants to disclose their social media profiles raises grave concerns about privacy and free speech rights. Forcing individuals legally residing in the United States to subject their online expression and personal connections to government scrutiny would have a profound chilling effect. This policy threatens to stifle open discourse, particularly for those with dissenting views or ties to other nations with differing political environments. Such screening measures appear to be an overreach that undermines core American values of freedom and democracy we claim to uphold. I urge you to consider the far-reaching implications of this measure and stand firm against any attempts to erode fundamental civil liberties under the guise of enhanced vetting. Protecting national security need not come at the expense of constitutionally enshrined rights and our identity as a free society.
