I strongly oppose plans to dismantle the Department of Education. Eliminating the agency would be detrimental to ensuring quality education for all students across the nation. The Department plays a crucial role in administering federal funding that supports students from low-income families and those with disabilities. Abolishing it could jeopardize access to critical educational resources for these vulnerable groups. Furthermore, the Department helps maintain standards and provide oversight to uphold equity and civil rights protections in our public education system. Rather than dismantling this essential institution, efforts should be made to strengthen and reform it to better serve the needs of students, teachers, and communities. I urge you to reconsider this misguided proposal and instead work to improve and adequately fund public education for the benefit of our nation's future.
