Reject anti-transgender legislation, protect healthcare rights and human dignity

To: Gov. Abbott, Sen. Middleton, Rep. Paul, Lt. Gov. Patrick

From: A constituent in Pasadena, TX

March 11

The proposed bill criminalizing transgender adults from updating their gender markers or accessing gender-affirming care is an alarming violation of human rights. It disregards well-established medical consensus that such care is vital and ethical treatment for gender dysphoria. Denying access to this care causes serious harm to transgender individuals' mental health and wellbeing. This discriminatory legislation has no basis in ensuring public safety or upholding constitutional rights. It serves only to marginalize a vulnerable population. I urge you to reject this cruel attempt to legislate bigotry and stand up for the rights and dignity of all Texans, regardless of gender identity. Transgender people deserve access to ethical, evidence-based medical care free from government overreach into personal healthcare decisions. Vote against any bill that compromises this fundamental freedom.
