Save the VA!!

To: Rep. Rogers, Sen. Paul, Sen. McConnell

From: A constituent in East Point, KY

March 6

The proposed firing of 80,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs is deeply concerning and would severely undermine the quality of care and services provided to our nation's veterans. Removing such a large portion of the VA workforce risks creating unacceptable delays and barriers for veterans trying to access their health care and benefits. The impacts of these workforce cuts are already being felt. Increasing staffing shortages will only exacerbate long wait times, impede prompt response to crises through services like the Veterans Crisis Line, and slow the processing of disability claims. This constitutes a dereliction of our duty to care for the men and women who have sacrificed for our country. Rather than dismantling the VA system through draconian job cuts, we should be bolstering its workforce and resources to ensure timely, quality services for all veterans in need of care. I urge you to firmly oppose this misguided proposal that will endanger support for our veteran community. Our veterans deserve better than to have their care compromised by political agendas. Please reaffirm your commitment to improving the VA, not crippling it.
