As your constituent I am contacting you today with deep concern regarding the freedoms afforded to us by the first amendment to our Constitution. I ask you to defend our constitutional right to protest. Further I ask you to demand the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil. Mahmoud is a lawful permanent resident who has been detained without charges in retaliation for exercising his First Amendment rights. We are witnessing tyranny and we must not allow this violation to stand unchallenged. Do not wait for the courts to put the executive branch in its place, I need you as duly elected member of congress to uphold your oath to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States. Please communicate with your constituents where you stand on this issue and the specific case of detaining (with intent to deport) a lawful permanent resident/green card holder. thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing a response from you.
