While I am sure you are all aware of the general public's disappointment with the Democratic party, we have reached a tipping Point where it is no longer feasible to sit by and play ball with this administration. The citizens of this nation and in particular of New York State deserve and demand better from their elected representatives. I am inquiring what you stand ready to do to address catastrophic national security failures via unofficial channels, as well as the dismantling of the government by an unappointed, unconfirmed, foreign national acting in clear disregard for conflicts of interest. But perhaps the most alarming development comes with unfounded investigations, detentions, and deportations of innocent citizens. I do not understand the level of apathy with which the Democratic party has viewed such heinous transgressions against are very Constitution and the spirit of what America stands for!!! It is time to dig in, resist, fight, and stand up to the greed and hatred of a few insecure and self-interested people! The people are ready but we need to see leaders willing to stick their necks out with some kind of meaningful disruption! Where are the charges of treason? Where are the calls for impeachment? Where are the representatives holding protest signs?? I understand that idealism has its place and that the day-to-day management of the nation is a priority. And, as legislators, you may simply not have the luxury of disregarding protocol. But at this point, we have seen how much damage can be done when loose cannons and incompetent demagogues are left to act unchecked -- ever since the conservative push in the 1990s with Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, and the Tea Party fanatics! Things came to a head with Barack Obama's election and we finally could see all of the bile and hatred that still festered in this Republic. The Democratic party pays lip service to acting for the people and for standing up to protect inclusivity and equity.... It's time to honor that commitment.
