restore investments in the American people
To: Rep. Kim
From: A constituent in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
March 13
I am relieved to hear you disapprove of the reckless and discriminatory cuts to the federal government. What do you plan to do to help heal the damage done by DOGE to our agencies and programs? I admire that you are such a staunch supporter of small businesses as I sincerely believe that corporate monopolies in agriculture and the arts have done untold damage to those industries and to the pricing, development, sustainability, and value of their goods. I call on you specifically to help restore the 1 billion dollar grant that would have helped schools and food banks buy from local farmers to feed communities. I believe your leadership on that issue would be a welcomed, instrumental point to an effort to sustain our country’s family farms in this unstable economy. I do not believe that the federal agencies currently hijacked by DOGE should have the authority to cut all these programs without you and the rest of the House’s votes on the issue. Especially since Mr. Elon Musk has refused to show up for certain committees to discuss his work, and his website on DOGE’s efforts has regrettably been full of errors. It is absolutely infuriating that all these programs investing in the most at-need Americans are being cut and labeled as “nonessential” or “unaligned with the administrations priorities” due to being filed under environmental justice and equity initiatives. I appreciate if you share my horror on this and act to resolve and restore as many investments in the American people as possible.
