Protect our education system in Maryland

I ask you to stop the Trump administration from harming students and families by dismantling the Department of Education. By closing key offices and conducting illegal layoffs, Trump and DOGE are trying to bypass Congress to gut the department. As a Parent and special education teacher, I am concerned about about the impact that these cuts will have on students with disabilities, including funding and oversight for programs like [IDEA, 504, Gallaudet, American Printing House for the Blind, Helen Keller National Center, Special Olympics. There is already a huge need for these services and it can take months to years to be evaluated, receive therapy, receive an IEP, etc. this lose would be devastating and put our children years behind their counterparts in other countries. How will you and your administration continue to serve the students in Maryland to protect their access to education and their IEP/504 plans? How will you work with the counties within our state to distribute funds amount them? This is an overreach by the executive branch. Please act to protect the students and the federal workers who serve them. Thank you.
