Oppose the No Rogue Rulings Act, H.R. 1526
To: Rep. Castro
From: A constituent in San Antonio, TX
March 31
I am writing to urge you to oppose H.R. 1526, the No Rogue Rulings Act, which seeks to undermine the independence of the federal judiciary by prohibiting nationwide injunctions.
Nationwide injunctions are a critical tool used by courts across the political spectrum to protect constitutional rights and check executive overreach. They have been instrumental in blocking unconstitutional policies, such as the Trump administration’s travel ban and other harmful measures. This bill is not about curbing “rogue rulings”; it is about stripping courts of their ability to safeguard Americans from unlawful government actions.
The judiciary plays an essential role in maintaining checks and balances in our democracy. Limiting its authority in this way threatens the very foundation of our system of government and risks enabling authoritarian policies without restraint.
As your constituent, I urge you to vote NO on H.R. 1526 and protect the judiciary’s independence. Please let me know your position on this issue. Thank you for your time and consideration.
