I wonder when or if you will feel compelled to stand up for our country! Or do you plan to remain quiet while the country turns more authoritarian by the minute! We have a President and his administration openly going to battle with our courts! Federal Judges ( many Republican) have repeatedly filed injunctions and now the President is challenging their orders. Recently the President used the alien enemies act to send Venezuelans to an El Salvador prison! Except they were not give due process- something our constitution calls for! Additionally we have no evidence these men were criminals or part of a gang as was claimed and family members of some of these men have come forward stating they weren’t. Instead of working with the Courts, our President is ignoring it and out Vice President is accusing the courts of improperly interfering with government when in fact, the Judges are following the rule of law. Now I am reading that the aliens enemies act may be used to break into peoples homes illegally. ICE is claiming they don’t care what the Judges say! These are the actions of an authoritarian government. I am also reading that there is consideration of the President stepping out of the role of the Supreme Allied Commander which would be a step in breaking away from NATO. Again these are alarming actions and yet you remain silent. Doge and the President continue to work rapidly to break everything in the federal government and are now threatening to gut the Department of Education. Our country continues trade wars with our allies alienating every single allie we have making life increasingly difficult for Americans. Elon was recently blocked again from digging through our social security data trying to find evidence of abuse to justify the assault on social security. On Wednesday the SSA office enacted a policy that will force non-citizens to have to go in person to the social security office to get social security numbers for work authorizations which will add millions of customers to those offices. Additionally, people trying to initiate their social security will now have to go to the social security office providing numerous forms of identification before they can access their benefits again adding numerous customers. All of this while closing offices and cutting social security staff. Clearly this isn’t about fraud but breaking down the system so that it can’t work. Our economy is quickly going into a recession. The rule of law is being violated repeatedly. The Administration is fighting against our courts. The stock market is plummeting. The American people are angry and distressed. What is happening to our country is heartbreaking! I love our country but see it being torn down on a daily basis! The rest of the world sees our country as dangerous and unstable. They aren’t wrong! Will you stand by while our country is destroyed? I hope not!
