It is midweek through spring break for Fort Worthians and I can't help but wonder what the decrease in jobs at our national parks looks like. Trips to our national parks and forests offer average families an affordable experience with their family and teach us so much about our environment. Studies have shown time and time again about the healing benefits of nature. People are now waiting an hour to an hour and a half to just enter the parks. There were 5 million visitors to the Grand Canyon alone last year. When was the last time you sat in a car with young children or family members? This of course doesn't even contemplate what other jobs are necessary to maintain the land and the facilities. This is not a necessary or efficient budget cut. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Please consider restoring our funding to our national treasures for all Americans and visitors to enjoy.
