Veto discriminatory anti-immigrant law, uphold American values
To: Gov. Cox
From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT
March 8
The recently passed immigration law enabling deportations goes against American and Utah values of inclusivity, compassion, and community. Utah has long welcomed immigrants and recognized their vital contributions to our state's rich cultural tapestry and economic dynamism. This punitive legislation undermines the Utah Way, tearing apart families and disrupting vibrant communities. It promotes discrimination rather than the diversity and unity that are sources of strength. This misguided law should be vetoed to reaffirm that all are welcome in Utah and can contribute to the socioeconomic fabric of our state regardless of national origin.
