Investigate potential voter intimidation in Wisconsin

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Reschenthaler

From: A verified voter in Crabtree, PA

March 26

It has recently come to light that Wisconsin residents are receiving text messages from a (202) D.C. area code, falsely urging them not to vote in the upcoming election. These messages are not legitimate and appear to be an attempt at voter suppression and intimidation. Here is the last version of the text used in the presidential election: ‘WARNING: Violating WI Statutes 12.13 & 6.18 may result in fines up to $10,000 or 3.5 years in prison. Don’t vote in a state where you’re not eligible.’ Similar messages are circulating again now. These are scare tactics and are not legal in the United States. I’d like to request that these texts be investigated. Voting is one of the most fundamental and sacred rights of an American citizen and should not come under interference in any form.
