Reject unqualified Dr. Oz nomination for CMS leadership role
To: Rep. Smith

Dr. Mehmet Oz's confirmation as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services would be a detriment to public health. His promotion of unproven and potentially dangerous medical treatments raises serious concerns about his ability to lead an agency responsible for the wellbeing of millions of Americans. As a public figure, he has repeatedly made misleading claims about weight loss products, alternative therapies, and most recently, voiced opposition to providing gender-affirming care and abortion access – measures supported by major medical organizations. Appointing someone who disregards scientific consensus and prioritizes personal interests over proven healthcare practices would undermine the integrity of these vital programs. I urge you to reject his nomination to protect the health and safety of our nation's most vulnerable populations.
