I am deeply concerned about the discontinuation of the Head Start Facebook page and the migration to the Administration for Children and Families Facebook page. While social media shuffles are normal when there is an administration changeover, I cannot understand why this change is being made unless there are plans to discontinue the Head Start program. As a public school teacher and former early childhood educator, I am incredibly concerned about Head Start being cut. Head Start not only helps prepare our most vulnerable children for kindergarten, but it also provides much needed childcare for working parents and has the potential to give those children a path to a successful adulthood where they are gainfully employed and not reliant on the public dole. Surely even Republicans and MAGAs can agree that all children in America should have the opportunity to grow up to support themselves.
