Each year for the past several years there have been preemption bills that are starving our cities and counties of needed funds as well as hindering our communities from promoting development and activities in the most appropriate direction for OUR citizens. Please oppose preemption bills that prohibit growth management, prohibit water supply and quality control (like fertilizer bans), and so on. These do not make our communities safer or more attractive. They only benefit rich companies who want to do whatever boosts their bottom line. Also, on the same line, property tax is necessary and removing it would just make Florida’s tax system even more regressive and predatory.
