Those involved in this incident, including senior officials who participated in unsecured communications about imminent strikes, must be held fully accountable through a thorough investigation and appropriate consequences. Maintaining confidentiality around military operations is critical for success and protecting our troops. 18 U.S.C. § 793(f) makes it a federal crime to for people entrusted with information related to the national defense to, with gross negligence, disclose it to others in violation of that trust. Please exercise your congressional role of oversight. Bring in all parties involved to testify under oath; make criminal referrals. Congress was warned about Peter Hegseth's unsuitability. His lack of appropriate experience and reputation for excessive drinking.
