The disproportionate influence of wealthy individuals and corporations over elections is deeply concerning and undermines the core principles of democracy. Citizens United has allowed an influx of money from billionaires and special interests to distort the political process, drowning out the voices of ordinary Americans. This amendment seeks to restore power to the people by permitting reasonable limits on campaign contributions and spending.
