I am writing to (a) thank you for not censuring Rep. Al Green for speaking truth to power during Trump's speech before a joint session of Congress; and (b) asking you to follow Rep. Al Green's example in causing "good trouble."
I don't want a silent protest or bended knee with kente cloth from my representatives. I don't want fundraising emails telling me how dangerous Trump is, without concrete actions to stop the damage he is doing to our country and the world.
Your Republican colleagues have provided years of blueprints for how to stall an administration from passing laws and getting things accomplished. While I typically dislike these tactics, they are an excellent tool at your disposal for protecting the American people (regardless of citizenship) and the US Constitution from fascism. Please use every tool at your disposal.
And remember not to censure outspoken colleagues making good trouble.
