Ask your colleague, Sen. Collins, to defend the Constitution & power of Congress

Please ask Senator Collins to stop giving away the power of Congress to Trump and Musk. It's a disgraceful abdication of the oath to the constitution and the duty of the Senate Appropriations chair to "leave it to the courts" and to fail to condemn Trump and Musk's usurpation of the congressional power of the purse. No, Senator, leaving it to the courts is not okay. You swore to uphold and defend the constitution. You are not doing so. How about using your committee's subpoena power? Calling in Vought and Musk to answer questions? How about referrals to justice, law enforcement and the FBI? It's not enough to just worry about what Maine is losing from NIH funding and other streams of congressionally appropriated money. You are supposed to be serving the nation and defending the constitution against all enemies including domestic ones. Take a leaf from Angus King: his speech last week should not have been the courageous lone voice in the wilderness; you should have been standing alongside him. How long will it take for you to remember your oath and find your courage? If you are not willing or able to serve your constituents as you swore to do, then for God's sake step done and allow someone capable and with the courage and integrity you lack to step up. Until then you are disgracing Maine.
