Democracy dies when you put decorum before truth and justice.
It's time for all members of congress from both sides of the aisle to face the gravity of the moment. No more hypocrisy. No more compliance and enabling tyranny. We need peaceful visible public gestures of courage now.
I was HORRIFIED to see Representative Al Green forced from the chamber for telling the truth --while a 42 count felon who is daily shredding the constitution, daily showing contempt for the laws he should see faithfully executed, continued spouting lies and bigotry from the podium. I am horrified at the complicity of all present from both parties.
The removal of Al Green and the censure are more disgraceful and ignominious than anything any heckler could say. Tolerating partisan abuse in the name of decorum brings the House into disrepute.
In the past, members such as Taylor Greene and Boebert have conducted themselves far more disgracefully and not been removed or censured.
This looks like partisan racism to me.
Shame on every Democrat member of Congress who did not walk out with Al Green: that is all the democrats. You should have stood up and left.
It's time to find some courage and act on it.
Shame on every Democratic governor who did not get visibly show support for Janet Mills when Trump publicly abused her at a meeting of governors. Mills conducted herself with sterling courage and integrity. The silent bystanders failed.
Don't you know that bullies crumble when they face unified resistance?
Shame on every democrat who voted to censure Al Green.
Shame on every GOP who uses decorum as a pretext for silencing fair criticism. Shame on you for daily compliance with a law breaking felonious insurrectionist who is now described by our former allies as an agent of Putin. Some of you are reportedly scared of retaliation: well, consider that our armed forces, who are now being treated so disgracefully put their lives on the line under fire and you can't even say no to a rogue twice impeached bully?
You are standing by overseeing a coup; you are daily failing to do what you can to put the brakes on policies that will result in poverty, illness, suffering and even deaths in the US and across the world.
Don't leave it to the courts.
Demonsate your courage.
