An open letter to the U.S. Senate

No to Hegseth: The senate is not a rubber stamp

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Pete Hegseth has admitted in his own words that he's been a drinker and has been prone to erratic behavior. It is also well known that he had a history of sexual assault. It is clear that these things alone make him an unsuitable nominee. It is a degradation to the dignity of the senate to spend your time on a nominee of such egregiously inappropriate character. I hope you will do your duty and serve us, your constituents and not be a toady to an aspiring dictator president. Vote no on Hegseth and no on any nominee with a history of sexual assault - and remember that you are bound to advise and consent and advise means advise against unsuitable nominees. No person vulnerable to blackmail and person with an appearance of impropriety or who is unqualified should be approved for national offices of grave importance. No to Hegseth, no to Tulsi Gabbard, no to Kash Patel, no to RFK jr. By the way, I am outraged that Gaetz was even nominated by Trump. You should be too. As a member of a coequal branch of government it's your duty to stand up for the constitution to serve your constituents and to look after national security and our rights. The senate is not a rubber stamp for the executive branch.
