Senator, you are approps chair. Use that power to block impounding or resign now

I am terrified and grief stricken by the sudden illegal dismantling of our government and the illegal executive orders from Trump and the digital terrorism being perpetrated by the illegal entity called DOGE. I am shocked that Senator Collins, who courageously recognised Trump's unsuitability for office in 2016 is marching in lockstep with GOP colleagues. If you aren't shocked by Trump's capitulation to Putin and willingness to partition and abandon Ukraine you should be. The firings and cuts to diverse federal agencies and USAID are now causing chaos and death. America is a laughing stock. We have betrayed our allies and Ukraine. Trump is truly Putins puppet doing Putins will. As chair of the senate appropriations committee, Senator Collins is one of very few in Congress who has any leverage at all to put the brakes on the illegal impoundment of congressionally approved funding. Any member of the senate, committee chair or not, who swore the oath to defend and uphold the constitution must not stand by and let Trump and Musk block finding, destroy agencies and sack federal employees. Why is Senator Collins failing? She has made only lukewarm comments including saying the cuts and blocks needed to be reviewed more carefully. Come again?! Does the senator approve of the impounding? Recently Kirsten Gillibrand told the NYT that Trump was threatening members of Congress. Yesterday Gabriel Sherman public this in Vanity Fair: " They’re Scared Shitless”: The Threat of Political Violence Informing Trump’s Grip on Congress With the president smashing norm after norm, even lawmakers within his party have feared for their personal safety, and at least one has told confidants that it has swayed his decision-making. BY GABRIEL SHERMAN Please ask Senator Collins to uphold her oath and do her job. America is being destroyed. Cuts to the NIH, air traffic, USAID, CDC, education, food safety and on and on. All of this PUTS LIFE IN DANGER. New pandemic? Dementia? Cancer research? Air traffic control? Food safety. And so on. The results of these illegal cuts are TERRIFYING. Senator Collins has a choice: either use her committee role to put the brakes on, use subpoenas and criminal referrals. Or resign. Remaining in office without opposing this damaging illegality is untenable. Find your courage or step down. Please reply in writing. Please explain what you are doing to uphold your oath
