Shame & disgrace: voting yes on Hegseth in committee was wrong

It is a disgrace that Trump nominated a person of Matt Gaetz's record to be AG: even before the house ethics report was released, it was clear that Gaetz was egregiously unsuited for the job both in respect of character and experience.
The same could be said of Pete Hegseth.
A known self-confessed erratic alcoholic who ran non profits into the ground and has a record of sexual misconduct and spousal abuse.
How on earth can any of you republican senators condone appointing to national office persons you would not trust to take someone's children home from school?
It's not just disgraceful that Hegseth is unqualified. It's also a disgrace to the senate that you had to spend hours going over his ignorance, lack of relevant experience, shocking sexism and sexual misdemeanour.
You own this:
You voted Hegseth out of committee. What a wicked thing to do.
If you think Hegseth was an unqualified nominee, as you stated in a full and detailed statement yesterday, then you should never have let him go forward.
You have form on this: we saw you do the same for Betsy de Vos.
Your statement of opposition to Hegseth means nothing: it's an empty hypocritical gesture. You simply gave your colleagues cover to approve this egregiousy unsuitable and unsafe erratic alcoholic.
You should give back the award you received for supporting the military: how can anyone who serves our country be ready to put their life on the line for a man of such bad character limited experience and dangerous opinions.
You have disgraced the state of Maine, the military and all your predecessors and mentors.
