An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Parties from the Yemen Signal Chat are in Congress TODAY. ASK QUESTIONS
21 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
The news yesterday about the illegal use of signal and inclusion of journalist Jeffrey Goldberg on a signal chat about a planned military strike has shocked the US and the world.
This was a failure beyond egregious.
It exposes the federal officials involved to liability for criminal negligence.
If it was not the first such instance of using inappropriate channels for highly classified communications, it raises acute questions about integrity and competence.
To make a bad situation worse, Pete Hegseth went on to lie about it and attack the journalist.
Such carelessness can cost lives. It costs us the trust of those who serve in the military. It further erodes our standing with former allies.
As a member of Congress you should care about this and address it with your tools of oversight and impeachment.
Today, Tuesday, number of those involved in that chat will be in the House to testify about our future relationship with Russia.
Per the New York Times:
"Is Russia an Adversary or a Future Partner? Trump’s Aides May Have to Decide.
On Tuesday, America’s top intelligence officials will release their current assessment of Russia. "

I am sure you will agree:
We need answers.
We need accountability:
We need impeachment and criminal referrals.
Please treat this matter with the utmost gravity. It is a national security issue not a party political one. I hope I can count on you to do your job.
